Press Release Regarding the Suicide Attacks Perpetrated in Nigeria

We have learnt with great sorrow that a double suicide attack was perpetrated against the camp for internally displaced people in Borno State of Nigeria on 9 February, 2016 on Tuesday morning as a result of which more than 70 people were killed and 78 people were injured.

We wish God’s mercy on those who lost their lives in this heinous attack, convey our condolences to the brotherly Nigerian State and people and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.

We maintain our belief that Nigerian people will overcome terrorism in unity and solidarity and the violence in the region will come to an end.

This attack, perpetrated a short time after the large-scale attack on January 31, has shown the importance of the resolute fight against terrorism.

Turkey, as a country fighting against terrorism, will continue to stand by the Nigerian Government and people for an effective fight against terrorism in a cooperation with the international community.
