Press Release Regarding the Visit of Foreign Minister H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to Portugal on the occasion of Revealing the “Fallen Diplomats Monument” in the compound of the Turkish Embassy in Lisbon

H.E.Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, will pay a visit to Portugal on 26-27 July 2015 on the occasion of revealing the monument dedicated to the memory of Mrs. Cahide Mıhçıoğlu, the wife of the charged'affaires of the Turkish Embassy in Lisbon, and Manuel Pacheco, Portuguese Police Officer, who lost their lives in the attack against the Turkish Embassy in Lisbon in 1983 carried out by the terrorist organization, the Armenian Revolutionary Army (ARA).

Alongside H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu his Portuguese counterpart H.E. Rui Machete will also participate in the inauguration ceremony to be held on 27 July 2015. During the bilateral meeting to be held prior to the ceremony, Foreign Minister H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and H.E. Rui Machete are expected to discuss the opportunities for carrying further the already excellent relations existing in every field between the two countries, and exchange views regarding the regional and international developments.
