Press Release Regarding the Suicide Attack in Kabul

Republic Of Türkiye Ministry Of Foreign Affairs 03.07.2014

No: 226, 3 July 2014

We have learned with deep sorrow that according to initial reports eight military personnel died and thirteen people were injured in the suicide attack perpetrated yesterday (2 July) against a bus carrying Afghan Air Forces personnel in the Kart-i Sakhi district of Kabul.

We condemn this heinous attack constituting yet another terror act targeting the peace and stability of Afghanistan in a transition period which is critical for the future of the country when all the segments of the Afghan population should be in solidarity. We wish God's mercy upon those who lost their lives, express our condolences to their families and hope for a speedy recovery of the wounded.

On this occasion, we stress once again our conviction that terrorist acts, which are a crime against humanity, will not produce any results in the face of Afghanistan's determined efforts to establish a stable future and reiterate that Turkey will always maintain its solidarity with brotherly Afghanistan.
